Did not hold my interest.

In fact you could not feel the connect between any of the characters.

The title is way off mark.

On an aside, in general some of the romance authors need a detailed explanation on the word "mistress".

The Billionaire Boss Forbidden Mistress Harlequin comics eBook MEGUMI TODA MIRANDA LEE Megumi Toda Reviews

This book was OK and there was a nice interaction between the characters. I felt Leah was written a bit too hardened but felt Jason was well done. I also was disappointed that the realization between the two was left to the end and then boom, it was over with. It would have been nice if there had been an epilogue to this book. A decent read.
Straight forward novel, no alpha tactics, no dithering and an agreeable father into the bargain. I found this to be a refreshing easy to read novel, with delicious office politics, not so subtle but most forgivable meddling from father dear and two likeable hero and heroine. Jason and Leah have their past sorrows and find infinity with each other. Loved the unusual ending which leaves you wondering about Jason's deceased wife and Leah's deceased mother.

(By the way, its a shame the paperback doesn't seem to be available because it's seriously gorgeous male model!)
The Billionaire Boss's Forbidden Mistress by Miranda Lee
Harlequin Presents # 2524 - March 2006
Ruthless theme

Leah's had a very good life until a horrible car accident takes her mother's life and leaves her both physically and emotionally scarred. When her husband divorces her because she is no longer physically perfect, she learns that she has to toughen up. Even though she doesn't need the money, she takes a job as a receptionist. Jason is a self-made man. Yes, he married well; some say for the money; but he also loved and is still grieving his wife's death. Jason buys controlling interest in the company where Leah works. He's confused and frustrated with the mixed signals she gives. Her eyes tell him that she wants him, but when he gets close she runs.

I found this to be very enjoyable. It was fast paced. The attraction was electric. The passion sizzled. And both Jason and Leah are great characters. I've read other Miranda Lee's and she's never been a disappointment
The Billionaire Boss's Forbidden Mistress is the first of Miranda Lee's contributions to the Ruthless! series of romance novels. Meet billionaire Jason Pollack, a self-made man who made his fortune by buying, improving and then selling companies. He may look like a playboy, but he genuinely loved his first (older) wife, who succumbed to cancer four years ago. When Jason decides to buy out Beville Holdings because of a dream, he finds himself very attracted to the beautiful blonde receptionist, Leah Johanssen. But Leah is scarred, both physically and mentally, from the car accident that killed her mother and desertion by her husband. She knows what Jason wants, and it's not marriage and children, so she intends to repel his advances. Of course, things don't quite work out that way..... this is a delightful, sexy romance full of miscommunication and misunderstanding, with a bit of messages from beyond the grave thrown in. Classic Lee romance.
The falling in love part was hard to see, not well developed
Love it! Great book!
This book was so relaxing to read. Really good, strong characters. A tale of love, both before and during their relationship. It flowed really well, and was believable.
